Cranford is located in Union County, New Jersey. Clark has over 22,000 residents as of the 2000 United States Census.

Cranford was incorporated as a township on March 14, 1871, from portions of Clark, Linden, Springfield, Union and Westfield. In 1903 portions of Cranford were taken to form Garwood and in 1907 portions were taken to form Kenilworth.

New Jersey Monthly magazine ranked Cranford as its 34th best place to live in its 2010 rankings of the "Best Places To Live" in New Jersey.

Transportation

New Jersey Transit provides bus service to New York City and points in-between. Routes include service to the Port Authority Bus Terminal and Newark.

Newark Liberty International Airport is approximately 13 miles from Cranford.

The Garden State Parkway passes through Cranford with access at Exit 136 Southbound (Linden/Roselle/Windfield Park) and at Exit 137 Northbound (Route 28).
